The Rapiscan Eagle P6000 is a high-energy, drive-thru portal cargo inspection system that provides a fast, accurate and efficient cargo screening method. Its ability to rapidly scan trucks and other vehicles supports inspection at critical facilities, seaports and border crossings. The Traffic Control and Monitoring System enables automated, continuous operation with throughput up to 180 vehicles per hour. The X-ray beam is automatically activated after the truck cab passes through the portal, so that the occupants are not exposed to an unsafe dose of radiation. The resulting X-ray images are sent to a nearby facility for review and evaluation. The portal structure, which supports the linear accelerator X-ray source and X-ray detectors, is designed for easy relocation.

The Rapiscan Eagle P6000’s 6 MV X-ray imaging system achieves X-ray penetration up to 400 mm of steel in the High Penetration (HP) model. The resulting high-quality X-ray images enable inspection of dense and densely-loaded cargo, which reduces the need for manual inspection.
